BOARD OF DIRECTORS

President - Eileen Curtayne
Eileen has a child in the Prosper ISD GT program and has been a volunteer at Gifted Minds Prosper (GMP) for approximately two years, most recently as the 2nd Vice President at GMP. Eileen has a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology with a focus in research methodology and social/personality psychology, and a Master’s in Education Policy and Leadership. She has research design experience in a variety of academic and applied domains identifying the perceptions, reactions, and learnings of target populations, as well as analytically identifying the most useful trends, strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Eileen’s project work has examined cultures of aggression, eyewitness memory performance, false memory creation, the influence of negative emotion on memory, memory performance at different developmental stages, employee selection, jury deliberation, and best practices in the oversight of developing charter schools. She also has extensive experience teaching college and community college students on topics within psychology, statistics, and research methodology. Eileen splits her time between being a mom, doing short-term contract work, volunteering as a Girl Scout Troop leader (five years and counting!), enjoying the company of friends and family, and pursuing her appreciation of the arts. She brings to this position her experience supporting volunteer organizations, leading the design and execution of research projects, her background in cognitive psychology; classroom experience, experience with student development, strong communication skills, and a passion for improving education outcomes for students, and GT students, in particular.
